Treadlio Business Terms
Updated October 25, 2026
These terms are the agreement between Brett Laws, a sole proprietor doing business as Treadlio (“Treadlio”, “we”) and the rental business that uses Treadlio (“you”, “your business”). The Owner who accepts them when joining Treadlio Admin agrees for the business and confirms they’re allowed to.
1. What Treadlio provides
Treadlio Admin, where your team runs reservations, vehicles, pricing and payments, and the Treadlio Portal, your booking pages and the booking widget for your website. We keep them running and improve them, and may change features over time. We’ll tell you before we remove anything you rely on.
2. Your account and your team
You choose who joins your business and what each person can do. You’re responsible for what happens under your business’s account, so remove people who no longer work with you and tell us at blaws@treadlio.com if you think someone got in who shouldn’t have. Treadlio support only signs in to your business when an Owner or Admin lets it in, for as long as they allow.
3. Your rentals are your business
You rent your vehicles to your renters; Treadlio isn’t a party to those rentals. You’re responsible for your vehicles, their safety and insurance, your rental agreement and policies, driver checks, your prices and taxes, and following the laws and permits that apply to your business. Treadlio gives you tools to collect documents and check ages; deciding who may drive is yours.
4. Payments
Card payments run through Stripe. Your business has its own Stripe account and is the merchant of record: renters pay your business, and the charge shows your business’s name. To take payments you also agree to Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement, which includes the Stripe Services Agreement, and you let Treadlio share your business details with Stripe and manage your Stripe account through Treadlio Admin.
Refunds, disputes and chargebacks are your business’s responsibility. They come out of your Stripe balance first, then from your bank account if the balance runs short. You agree to repay any amount your account owes, including a negative balance.
If you don’t take payments through Treadlio, renters pay you at pickup and none of the payment fees below apply.
5. Fees
On each payment taken through Treadlio:
- A booking fee of 5% of the amount, unless we’ve agreed a different rate with you in writing. In Settings > Payments you choose whether renters pay it on top of your prices or your business absorbs it.
- Card processing at Stripe’s cost, currently 2.9% + 30¢ per charge.
Fees are taken from the payment when it’s charged and aren’t returned when a payment is refunded, whoever cancels. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before raising a fee; a change applies only to payments after it takes effect.
6. Your data and your renters’ data
Your business owns its data: your vehicles, prices, reservations, and the details your renters give you, such as their names, contact details, dates of birth, driver’s licenses, signed documents and passengers. Treadlio handles renter data only for your business: to run your bookings, payments and emails, to keep the service secure and working, and as the law requires. We don’t sell it or use it to market to your renters.
You’re responsible for having the right to collect what you ask renters for, and for telling them how you use it, such as with your own privacy policy. We keep the data secure, limit who at Treadlio can see it, use only the service providers listed in our privacy policy, and tell you without undue delay if we learn that your data was accessed without permission. We’ll help you answer a renter who asks to see or delete their details.
We may use counts and other figures that don’t identify your business or any renter to run and improve Treadlio.
7. Acceptable use
Use Treadlio only for your rental business and within the law. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to, try to get into another business’s data, overload or probe the service, or resell it.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Treadlio at any time by emailing blaws@treadlio.com. We can end it with 30 days’ notice, or straight away if your business seriously breaks these terms, puts renters at risk or its payment account is closed. Either way, ask within 30 days and we’ll send you an export of your data; after that we delete it, except what the law or open payments and disputes need us to keep.
9. Warranties and liability
We work to keep Treadlio available and correct, but it’s provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those the law requires, and it may sometimes be unavailable. Neither side is liable to the other for lost profits or indirect losses. Treadlio’s total liability under these terms is limited to the fees your business paid Treadlio in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Your business will cover Treadlio for claims by your renters or others arising from your rentals or vehicles, or from your breaking these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We’ll email your Owners at least 30 days before a change that affects you, and update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Treadlio after it takes effect, you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can end the agreement before then.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, and disputes go to the state and federal courts located there. If part of them can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Treadlio may transfer them to a company it forms to run Treadlio. Notices to Treadlio go to blaws@treadlio.com; notices to you go to your Owners’ email addresses.
